Baby Flower Petal Hat
This little cap has an inner layer of "petals" that connects with the main cap by a knit row. Two longer petals on each side make the earflaps that tie under the chin.
Gauge: 22 stitches/ 4 inches
Needles: 14" straight needles and 2 sets of double pointed in US
size 3-6
Willow Baby Beanie
The snug little beanie starts at the back and knits sideways around the head forming earflaps along the way.
Gauge: 22 stitches/ 4 inches in stockinette stitch

10 Point Hat
Using smaller bits of yarn and leftovers from othe projects, you can be as creative as you wish with this colorful hat. Choose one main color and smaller amoutns of four others.
Gauge: 5(6) stitches and 7.5(9) rows/ inch in stockinette stich
Needles: 2 sets of 20" (16) circular and one set of double pointed in size

Lace and Bobble Beanie
This knit hat uses a sport weight to combine a lacy look to a beanie style.
Gauge: 6 stitches/ inch in stockinette

Soft Lace Chemo Hat
This hat can be knit in either a fine yarn with more stitches for an intricate lacy look or knit up in a bulkier yarn for a softer look. The instructions are given for a sport weight wool in a medium and large size and worsted weight wool in one size fits all. There are three numbers given for stitch count. The first and the second use a finer sport weight and work up to the circumferences of 18" and 21" respectively. The third uses thicker worsted weight and knits to a circumference of 21". All measurements are approximate.
Gauge: For A & B, 6 stich/ inch (For C, 5 stich/inch) Both in stockinette stitch

Lace and Fringe Cowl
This cowl is knit on straight needles then sewn to create a tube. It can be worn around the head using either edge to frame the face. DK weight yarn is used with a larger size needle for a looser fabric.
Gauge: 18 stitches/ 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
Needles: Straight needles in size US 6-9 depending on gauge
Northwest Flapper Hat and Cowl
In this warm and cozy neck cowl, a lace collar and band are worked around the neck, stitches are then picked up and more lace is worked downward with increases towards shoulders. A worsted weight yarn is used with larger needles for a softer more open knitted piece. Hat matches the cowl in pattern and uses a smaller needle size for a more firm fit. 
Lacy Hooded Scarf
This lacy hooded scarf starts at each bottom end and is worked to the crown. The two pieces are then swen together on the outside to emphasize the seam. Instructions are given for both DK and Sport weight yarns.
Gauge: 18 (22) stitches/ 4 inch in stockinette stitch.
Needle: 1 circular needle in US size 7-9 (4-6) depending on gauge
Simple Knots in a Row
This easy and simple cap and neck warmer uses stockinette stitch on straight needles. Ties attatched to one end slip thru holes on the other and tied into knots to close sides. (Artist used brass washers purchased at a hardware store to embellish knots.)
Gauge: 20 stitches/ 32 rows= 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Needles: Straight needles for both hat and wrap in US 3-5 depending
on gauge
Renaissance Hat
Gauge: 5 stitches and 6 rows per inch
Needles: One circular and one set double pointed in US 7 or size to obtain gauge
Stylish Hugger
The scarf wraps around the front of the head, crosses behind the back and then wraps around the neck for total warmth. Stitches are then picked up for both the crown and the brim with a button for the neck strap. Sample is knit in soft alpaca for a luxurious feel.
Gauge: 5 stitches/ 1 inch in stockinette stitch
Needles: 1 set straight needles, 1 16" circular, 1 set double pointed
size US 5-7, depending on size, 1 crochet hook
Fashion Hugger
This scarf wraps around the neck and head, with stitches picked up for the crown.

3 Tiered Hat
This hat has three seperate layers that surrounds the head and ears with warmth, while a lacy top allows for more air flow. Each layer is connected underneath by a knit row.
Gauge: 5 (6) stitches and 7.5 (9) rows/ inch in stockinette stitch
Needles: 2 sets of 20" (16:) circular and I set of double pointed.
Both in sizee to obtain gauge.

All patterns were created by a local artist, Carolyn Doe. Carolyn began knitting in her early 20's while traveling around Alaska. She has knit almost every day since. Carolyn also works with watercolors and is a self taught batik artist, (drawing and painting with wax and dyes to create designs on fabric.)
